2009 Secret City Festival

On June 19-20, 2009, the Humane Society had a booth at the Secret City Festival in Oak Ridge, TN. As last year, the weather was extremely hot. We distributed applications for our spay/neuter program, as well as information on membership, our Flea Market, and our Education program. We had tshirts available for sale.

On Saturday, we offered a free dog wash. Here are a couple of photos:

We would like to give a big thank you to LuAnn Keller for bringing Moony, her miniature horse. Moony was a big hit with the children.

In addition to the dog wash, we also sponsored a dog parade with gifts for Cutest Dog, Friendliest Dog, Best Dressed Dog, and Best Trick. The winner of each of the dog parade categories received a variety of dog care supplies.

The Dog Parade was hosted by Kristin Olsen from the Humane Society, and judged by Brian Porter from Anderson County Animal Control, Linda LaForest D.V.M., and Jimmy Olsen, a member of the Humane Society.

We would like to sincerely thank the City and the staff of the Civic Center for all of their assistance, as well as all of our members who volunteered their time to make this event such a success.

We look forward to seeing everyone next year.
